Fly Catcher Systems
No Flies On Us
Flies can be a nuisance when buzzing around a business.
Businesses may initially decide to ignore the problem, but if they see flies in larger numbers, they could be facing an infestation, which requires fly control.
Potential harm from Flies:
- Spread of diseases
- Contaminated food
- Bites - some species will bite humans and animals
- It's important to act if clients see an unusually large number of flies or if they are really interfering with their business.
Signs of a Fly Infestation:
- Noticing a few noisy flies in a business may not mean they have an infestation, however it should act as a warning sign to take some preventative action.
Common signs: - Small dark clusters of spots - in light areas (the size of a pinhead).
- Regular sighting of flies - around your workplace, food or bins.
- Maggots – these are flies in their larval stage and could indicate a potential breeding site in your office.
How does a fly catcher work?
- Fly catchers utilise ultraviolet tubes to attract flying insects into the product, before zapping them dead on a high voltage grid or trapping them on a sticky glueboard.
- UV tubes attract flying insects by emitting a wavelength of light attractive to flies. Flying insects are attracted to the tube which emits UV at a level comparable to that of the sun, which the flying insect has a natural attraction to as a source of heat.
